We are a Work-Zone Safety Company. We provide traffic management, vegetation management and arboriculture services, and digital technology to ensure that road workers and road users are safe.

The Chevron Group is one of the largest independent traffic management providers in the UK. We manage traffic for organisations working within Utilities, Construction, Rail, Highways, Local Authorities and Events that have to disrupt normal traffic flow to complete works.

We recently expanded our vegetation management and arboriculture division to provide a full range of services in commercial landscaping and highway maintenance.

We work in partnership with our customers and use the most up-to-date technology and innovative systems to ensure the absolute safety of employees, contractors and the general public.

Our success lies in collaboration

Collaboration is key to the success of your projects. Our approach is to get into the heart and the detail of your project; to build a relationship with you that gives us a clear understanding of your requirements; to bring our 40 plus years’ experience, expertise and industry knowledge; and to build the most effective traffic management or highway maintenance plan for you.

We regard ourselves as an extension of your project team. We take the traffic management or the vegetation management element of your project and own it so that you can get on with the business of managing the overall project. This proven approach works for our clients who regularly praise the collaborative nature of our business.

Safety driven by innovation

Safety is our key driver. We have recognised the impact of technology and digitalisation on the provision of safe, effective and timely traffic management services. Our smart-zone technology provides innovative, safety-focused solutions for use in high-speed work-zones and beyond.

Through digitalisation we are able to develop technically advanced traffic management plans which provide real-time information to our clients and to the general public. The most important benefit of this innovation is that we can anticipate and prevent potential accidents which otherwise could have devastating consequences.

Highly trained employees

Our excellent employees are central to the delivery of a successful business.

Based on the quality, performance and feedback of our employees, we believe we have the best in the business. The reason for this belief is that we invest heavily in training, development and career progression within the Group.

In 2020, we launched our tailored learning and development platform – the Chevron Academy. This platform provides and monitors the completion of mandatory and non-mandatory training to ensure that our employees are not only legally compliant but that they have the opportunity to enhance their expertise and progress through the company through the range of courses available via the Academy.

National service delivered locally

The Chevron Group has a network of 45 offices and depots across the UK, giving us the capacity to manage projects from Land’s End to John O’Groats. But what makes our service unique is our local knowledge. Our employees live and work in the communities in which we operate. Their knowledge of the local areas plays an important role in the successful planning and delivery of our projects.

This knowledge is matched by the pride they have in ensuring that we deliver the best possible service in their locality. We pride ourselves on our local knowledge at a company level and on a personal level.

Supporting our communities

We are committed to supporting the communities in which we operate. As well as providing long-term, sustainable employment opportunities, we work with communities to identify areas and initiatives that will benefit from our support, either through financial assistance, additional resources or manpower.

We have helped build an outdoor classroom for a primary school in a disadvantaged area to support education on the environment and biodiversity. We have donated laptops and mobile devices to support home schooling during lockdown and have provided free COVID-19 cleaning to schools to assist with reopening post lockdown.

ESG Centre of Excellence

Building a sustainable, responsible and environmentally conscious business is a key focus for the Chevron Group. Our Head of ESG and Improvement, Jamie Bowen leads the ESG Centre of Excellence for the Work-Zone Safety Group across Europe, to drive standards not just within our Group but throughout the industry.

As part of the Chevron Group’s approach to take responsibility for our impact on the environment, we have partnered with climate and sustainable development experts ClimateCare to offset carbon emissions associated with our operations.

As well as taking actions to reduce our carbon footprint through initiatives such as the installation of LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, and transitioning our TSCO van fleet to electric vehicles, we will offset unavoidable emissions through supporting projects that decarbonise grid electricity in India and protect a significant and vital carbon sink in the Gola Rainforest National Park, Sierra Leone.
