Celebrating a Second Product of the Year Award

Digital Service Leaders HRS have secured a second win of the prestigious Highways Product of the Year Award for their Dynamic Speed Sign in conjunction with Chevron Traffic Management.

Winning their first Award for the Intellicone Incursion Prevention and Warning System at the beginnings of HRS today, in their 10th Anniversary Year, the second award has even more meaning to the HRS Team and secures them as true innovators in the field of digital services for temporary work zone solutions.

The Smart Sign, now rebranded as the Dynamic Speed Sign for 2021, was developed following foresight from Highways England, who identified the requirement for such a device and also played a vital role in the early trial stages.  This partnership was commended by the Awarding Panel of Judges who commented the Dynamic Speed Sign was ‘A true example of innovation and collaboration’.

Roger Poeth, Managing Director of HRS stated “To win Highways Product of the Year is a huge achievement and is testament to the partnership between HRS and Chevron TM and our collaboration with Highways England and the wider industry with whom we engaged to ensure the Dynamic Speed Sign meets the need of the industry.  I am honoured and proud to create an innovative product which will make such a positive impact on our industry.”

This new Dynamic Speed Sign technology makes it possible for road users to benefit from reduced journey times through work zones during off peak operations with a 60mph speed limit, while the workforce can be protected by a lower speed limit of 40mph or 50mph during working hours or incidents.

The sign is easy to deploy and is mounted on a traditional A-frame, featuring an integrated solar power system with battery back-up.   HRS also provide a full reporting service and condition monitoring system through their own www.Myworkzones.com client portal.

A recent deployment of the signs on the M4 resulted in excellent feedback from the client and facilitated numerous speed changes over the duration of the scheme.
